It would seem logical that if the oceans are going to rise several feet, investments in these cities would be stupid.

A relative is planning to buy an apartment on The Plaza (Brickell Ave). Is it a good investment?

I need someone who prepares taxes as well. I need someone who can 1) find ways to reduce my tax liabilty 2) help me set up an investing strategy long term 3) Be knowledgeable in investments that can reduce my current tax liability from my income. I am wary of mutual funds with tons of fees and want someone who can give straightforward advice.

I think I made a serious mistake. After 5 years of toiling in the investment field, I made a conscious decision to go back to school and finish the degree I never finished. I obtained a degree in Bus.Admin – Economics in Orlando, FL. During school, I was temping to make ends meet. When I finished, I thought I wanted to get into international economics/business while plotting for my masters. Given Miami’s proximity, I moved to a friend’s place in Miami.
Since then, my search has been a total disaster. I think the temp jobs have put a serious hole in my resume. I’m not bilingual (I would say my spanish is intermediate, but not fluent). To make ends meet in the short term, I’m temping, but the agency isn’t much help for permanent positions so far.
I’m really at a loss. I seriously underestimated this city and the search. Now I’m at a loss what to do. I’m kind of stuck here right now, and my prospects seem dim. I don’t regret going back to school, but I need help.

Yeah the market in Miami(like everywhere else) is a mess right now. You can get condos for dirt cheap. It is so bad there that homeowners are actually raffling off their homes because they can not sell outright. Also I read there is a temporary ban of any new construction of high rises and condos due to the amount of property for sale there.

I have a job offer with a top-tier investment bank in NYC as an investment banker. I have several months until my start date and I would like to apply for jobs in Miami Florida and Lake Mary Florida where I’d be closer to home and closer to the sun…..anyone have any ideas of where I should apply? thanks!

If they both just got there MBAs and were first year associates would they get paid the same?

I am French, and live in France.
I’ve heard that homes prices have gone down in the US, so it may be a very good idea for investment.
If I buy a house or apartement, cash, I will certainly get some benefits when I sell it a few years later.
